Winte r is a great time for propagating hardwood cuttings and root division of p lants. We'll be working in our on-site nursery\, managed by Heritage Nurse ry\, exploring the practical skills that help gardens thrive year-round. Y ou'll get hands-on with cuttings from various fruiting and non-fruiting sp ecies\, and we'll talk through different rooting hormones and propagation methods that actually work. We'll also dive into root divisions\, so you c an see how it's done and have a go yourself. Everyone takes home root divi sions and cuttings of herbaceous and tree species\, including fruiting tre es\, to continue the mahi at home. Learning and doing alongside our tamariki is what we love. However\, we ap preciate this can sometimes be hard\, so we're learning alongside each oth er at a community level. Come join Earth School Aotearoa for our first com munity herbalism workshop. This is the first of quarterly sessions where y ou can come and make all your seasonal remedies\, either by yourself or as a whānau. Bring the kids for no extra cost (adult ones too). These are gr ass roots\, barefoot\, children running around events where there's extra eyes and support to be able to learn and make what you need for your home- based seasonal wellness remedies. There are experienced tutors there able to help\, with their own children in attendance. If you've ever wanted to take more control of your remedies and aren't able to afford the prices of some\, or generally just want to learn alongside others in a more relaxed environment\, then this is made for you. This season is about waking up. The days are getting longer\, and our lymphatic systems need waking up. We 'll make mixes and blends suitable for waking up these systems and a balm for itchy bits as bugs start waking up too. At this workshop\, you'll also be given seeds and root divisions for some vital herbs to have in your ga rden or community. Ticket prices include the cost of ingredients but not v essels or jars. You'll need to source and bring them yourself. More inform ation will be emailed. Places are limited as we need to source ingredients in advance\, so sign up and bring the whānau (newborn or old).
